I hear you charge a monthly membership fee is this true?
Yes. We charge a $20 monthly membership fee. This money is used to keep our property maintained, keep paper in the printers and most importantly, with winter coming, it keeps the coffee flowing for those hangar flying sessions.
If however you plan not to fly in a given month, call us and we will mark you as inactive. As an inactive member you do not have to pay any dues.
Perhaps you have heard of people still getting billed monthly dues even after being made inactive. As we transitioned to a new computer based system we did have some issues and quite frankly it took us a while to get used to it. All the bugs are worked out so you don't have to worry about it!
I hear your airport is really busy and has a control tower.
Yes, we have a tower and yes we have a lot of larger aircraft that come in and out of the field. The truth is the tower keeps us all out of each others way. In fact, we do not even worry about Class B airspace since the tower can set up a Class B clearance for you, before you even get off the ground.
Fact: Airports and airspace are getting busier. Getting used to controlled airspace is going to be essential.
Do you have VA approval?
We have just been accredited for VA benefits training and soon after this reaches you we will be recognized by the state of Mississippi as a vocational school, opening up a whole new set of financing tools for our growing student base.
We are establishing a satellite school for our foreign students at a nearby airport and looking to expand our operations in Memphis to better suit our customers. Soon we will have a facility within 20 minutes of anyone in the greater Memphis area wanting to learn to fly or rent an airplane.
